Research Coordinator, Pediatrics—SPAH Kids Study
Endeavor Health’s department of Pediatrics at Evanston Hospital is seeking applicants for a Research Coordinator. This position will be focused on supporting the Stress, Pregnancy, & Health (SPAH) Kids study, a longitudinal study of the links between socioeconomic status, prenatal stress, and early child development. The Research Coordinator will work closely with the Research Manager, PIs, and rest of the team to execute study assessments and work toward project goals.
Project Description
ILPQC is a nationally recognized Perinatal Quality Collaborative (PQC) with approximately 90 participating hospitals. ILPQC facilitates state-wide quality improvement initiatives to equitably improve maternal and neonatal outcomes and reduce disparities in birthing hospitals across the state by providing: opportunities for collaborative learning, rapid response data, and hospital team QI support. Current projects include Newborn Equity and Safe Sleep, Perinatal Mental Health, Care of the Late Preterm Infant and a Birth Quality Designation.
What You Will Do
- Support Dr. Pellerite’s Stress Pregnancy and Health Kids’ research studies, including social disparities research on pediatric outcomes and maternal-child health studies
- Assist with study activities including submitting IRB documentation;
- Identify, recruit and enroll patients and other participants for research studies;
- Obtain consent;
- Administer cognitive and language assessments to children;
- Administer psychosocial interviews, surveys during in-person and remote study sessions at Endeavor’s Evanston Hospital;
- Ensure data quality;
- Participate in data analysis as guided by Research Manager and PI;
- Communicate with stakeholders
- Assist in preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and abstract writing as well as coordination of new grants— including preparing and tracking of study budgets
What You Will Need
- Education: BS in public health, nursing, social work, social or health science or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience and 3 years' research study or other relevant experience required;
- Experience: 2 years experience in research
- Unique or Preferred Skills: Spanish speaking preferred. Experience facilitating recruitment and follow up strategies with clinic personnel and operational problem solving. Experience working with data management systems and software such as REDCap, SPSS, Ripple. Excellent organization, time management, problem solving and communication (both written and verbal) skills. Ability to interact in a professional and sensitive manner with medical personnel, research subjects, research collaborators, community groups and other research staff. Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision, and show initiative. Experience working with children between the ages of 15 months to 6 years. Spanish Fluency is strongly preferred
