Research Coordinator I - School of Public Health (Bilingual)

Position Summary

All for Them is a multilevel, multicomponent program at the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research, School of Public Health. The project aims to increase Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination among youth in multiple medically underserved areas across Texas. Project activities include delivery of a bilingual social marketing/education campaign, school-based vaccination clinics at public middle and high schools, and school nurse education to improve communication with parents about HPV vaccination.

Position Key Accountabilities

• Assists with day-to-day project management coordination.
• Serve as liaison to Houston Independent School District (HISD) and healthcare provider partners.
• Texas Children’s Mobile Clinic Program and CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics to ensure that all activities related to vaccination clinics run according to plan.
• Tasks include regular and clear communication with providers, district partners, and school contacts to coordinate scheduling and prepare for school-based vaccination clinics.
• Aid in intervention planning and development, including translation of Spanish-language messages.
• Cookout implementation of mobile vaccination clinic activities for HISD schools and support other project staff with implementation in Aldine Independent School District, Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District (Baytown), and other school districts as needed.
• Regular/weekly travel within the greater Houston area is required.
• Conduct parent outreach and education in person and via phone.
• Aid in preparation of clinic related materials, message delivery, and data collection activities.
• Aid in coordination of evaluation activities, including distribution and management of surveys.
• Prepare evaluation reports as needed.
• Maintain confidential records of collected data, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
• Provide direction and guidance to colleagues regarding project implementation activities, as needed.
• Maintain project supplies inventory.
• Comply with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations and codes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish – speak, read, and write, strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of concepts of public health research preferred.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Google Drive applications, and internet use.
• Certification for Protection of Human Research Subjects must be completed within 5 days of employment.

Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required. Master's Degree, preferred.
• None to 2 years related experience in health promotion, community health or similar, preferred.
