About the role

This is a full-time research coordinator position in the Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH)/Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) Psychology Division, involved with grant-funded research projects examining neurocognitive outcomes following treatment for pediatric brain tumors.

Responsibilities

  • Engages in various aspects of study implementation, including scheduling study visits, obtaining informed consent, and administering participant incentives.
  • Determines eligibility and recruits patients for research participation.
  • Supports study team members conducting testing procedures required by study protocols, which may include learning to administer neuropsychological tests, scoring assessments, discussing test results with the supervising psychologist, and participating in discussions regarding findings.
  • Conducts medical chart abstractions.
  • Maintains and manages patient research files.
  • Enters data into databases using Microsoft Excel and statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS).
  • Prepares documentation required to obtain initial and ongoing approval for specific research protocols.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position are a High School diploma or GED and three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience or strongly related field (no experience required with preferred degree).
  • Exposure to clinical research experience supporting human-subject studies.
  • Highly organized with effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Excel and SPSS.
  • Ability to understand and implement patient studies/protocols.
  • Respectful, patient-centered interactions with participants, medical providers, and staff.

Skills

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
