Research Coordinator I
About the role
The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences, Division of Environmental Health is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) individual to assist in the MADRES Study. The study investigates the effects of air pollutants, chemicals, and stress on maternal and child health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Completing survey questionnaires by phone in English and Spanish
- Reviewing questionnaire responses from participants
- Entering data into computer databases
- Scheduling appointments for research visits with participants and conducting research visits to conduct study procedures
- Collecting biological specimens from participants
- Aiding in the creation of reports, study documents, and questionnaires
- Consenting participants in Spanish and English and explaining study procedures
- Providing administrative support to the research study staff and the study manager
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Fluent Spanish and English writing and speaking skills
- Ability to work well with different groups, including research faculty and staff
- Strong organizational capabilities
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or equivalent experience preferred
Skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Pay
The hourly rate range for this position is $32.01.
Schedule
Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends are essential.
