Responsibilities
- Responsible for the successful data collection and intervention implementation of the assigned study.
- Responsible for all day-to-day aspects of running the assigned study, including intimate knowledge of study grant narratives and budgets, and interfacing with the community.
- Collaborates with other researchers on a local and national level as required.
- Research may include field studies, data collection, and surveillance.
- Sets up and supervises data collection and intervention implementation.
- Coordinates the day-to-day activities of Research Assistants assigned to the study and works closely with the study Principal Investigator and departmental leadership to ensure the successful implementation of all aspects of the study.
- Ensures accurate data collection, intervention implementation, data entry, and data management for multiple studies.
- Ensures all data for designated studies are collected according to protocol as demonstrated by data audit.
- Ensures all data arrive and are entered on a timely basis as demonstrated by review of study timeline.
- Prioritizes project activities and assigns tasks to research assistants or other project staff as available and appropriate.
- Coordinates activities so workloads are reasonable and staff needs are planned for.
- Collaborates with Data Manager and Statistician to coordinate file creation, data maintenance, and data analysis as needed.
- Maintains housekeeping files, data hardcopies, study protocol books, and other study files, ensuring they are current.
- Maintains IRB consent forms and correspondence, ensuring they are current.
- Documents data collection protocols for assigned studies in print and ensures data collection forms are easy to use.
- Meets with Statistics and Computing Center staff as necessary.
- Actively monitors progress of project and keeps study PI and staff appraised of progress, problems, and anticipated busy times.
- Presents updated study timeline at monthly research meetings.
- Identifies and communicates logistical problems with data collection or intervention implementation to study leadership.
- Performs text editing and formatting for relevant journal submissions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Performs literature review by assigned deadline when asked.
- Reviews and provides feedback for colleagues’ work in a timely fashion when asked.
- Presents the study at regional, national, and international conferences where appropriate.
- Keeps abreast of appropriate research developments and other agricultural health and safety issues.
- Subscribes to agricultural health and safety research e-groups as appropriate.
- Seeks collaboration with other researchers in the field as evidenced by collaboration notes.
- Communicates regularly with key stakeholders including collaborating agencies, private industry groups, farm advocacy groups, government agencies, and agricultural health and safety researchers.
- Facilitates collaborations between key stakeholders to ensure study outcomes are met.
- Leads effective focus groups and market testing for targeted organizations.
- Works with study team, contract staff, and organizations to improve recruitment materials, improve study design, and ensure the rigorous collection of study data.
- Facilitates effective communication with collaborating parties to ensure sustainable outcomes that meet the needs of all parties involved.
- Provides study feedback on a regular basis.
- Produces and disseminates at least one study update for each project each year.
- Presents preliminary findings at least once per year.
- Meets with Senior Coordinator on a monthly basis and PI as needed to communicate study progress and review study timeline and planning.
- Monitors study resources and provides feedback to Manager on a regular basis.
- Works closely with design team to implement modifications to planned interventions.
- Ensures adequate evaluations of interventions in real-world field applications.
- Works closely with key stakeholders to ensure resources are allocated optimally to carry out program goals in the necessary time frame.
- Pursues appropriate training dependent on the focus of intervention chosen by stakeholders.
Education
- Master’s Degree in Public Health or other fields utilizing population research, agricultural health, and/or community organizing required.
- Bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Pay
- Salary range: $25.23 – $37.85 per hour (based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation)
