RESEARCH COMPLIANCE MANAGER

About the role

The Research Compliance Manager is part of the Office of Research Regulatory Affairs (ORRA) and is responsible for administering innovative safety and compliance to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, industry standards, and FCCC policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations for the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Laboratory Safety Training program, Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC), and related continuing education of staff
• Manage animal-related Post-Approval Monitoring and coordinate laboratory safety inspections
• Provide support to the IACUC and IBC
• Oversee tracking and routing protocols for animal authorizations and IBC submissions
• Provide training and support to investigators for protocol management using software database
• Oversee and coordinate functions related to the IACUC and IBC
• Track, coordinate, and submit all related compliance activities to agencies and FCCC offices
• Maintain and update internal IACUC and IBC website
• Stay current with animal and biosafety related policies and procedures
• Provide support for the controlled substance program including training and documentation
• Promote continuous programmatic improvement and overall excellence
• Foster a culture of safety and incident prevention as a core value
• Responsible for Research Compliance activities as assigned

Education

• Bachelor's Degree Required

Experience

• 3 years experience in a related field Required
• 3 years experience in Laboratory Animal Care/Use Procedures Required
• 2 years experience in biological laboratory setting and knowledge of BioSafety Levels Required
• General experience and working knowledge of laboratory animal care husbandry procedures, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, AAALAC Requirements & Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories Preferred
• General experience with the NIH Guidelines for Research involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules Preferred
