About the role
The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) is seeking individuals to join our team of scientists, operators, and technicians. Our mission is to support cutting-edge research and development through the provision of state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and services.
Responsibilities
- Create and conduct experiments and analyze results to develop new products, processes, or commercial applications.
- Collaborate with industry and academia to apply research findings and develop new techniques, products, or practices.
- Set up new research infrastructure for conducting high-quality research.
- Teach, demonstrate, or supervise students in academic settings.
- Train and supervise other members of technical staff.
- Devise or assist in drawing up new research proposals and applying for funding.
- Work in multidisciplinary teams across different faculties or schools in academia and various functions within businesses.
- Set up new R&D start-ups.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Chemistry/ Physics/ Material Science/ Engineering/ Medical Science/ Pharmaceuticals/ Life Science, and Post-Doctoral (minimum 2 years).
- Minimum 2 years of experimental research experience after Ph.D in interdisciplinary/collaborative research.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and research skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to collaborate effectively with researchers, professionals from research institutions, academia, and industries.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemistry/ Physics/ Material Science/ Engineering/ Medical Science/ Pharmaceuticals/ Life Science, and Post-Doctoral (minimum 2 years).
- Minimum 2 years of experimental research experience after Ph.D in interdisciplinary/collaborative research.
- Post Graduate in Chemistry/ Physics/ Material Science/ Instrumentation with minimum 2 years’ experience in the field of material science/ Instrumentation.
- High degree of computer literacy with data handling on Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word etc.
- Specific skills: data analysis, techniques and tools.
