Research Associate - Open Rank - Wolfe Lab
for section headings. Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. Use
for prose.
We must preserve all substantive information, not invent or summarize away detail. Remove boilerplate, duplicated lines, application instructions.
We need to decide sections: About the role (position summary + lab focus). Responsibilities (essential functions + major responsibilities). Requirements (required qualifications per level). Qualifications maybe same as Requirements? The instruction says use headings for sections like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We can combine Requirements and Qualifications if they overlap, but better to separate if content distinct. The posting has "Required Qualifications" (education, experience) and also "Experience Required" and "Experience Desired". Could treat "Experience Required" as Skills? Or maybe Skills section for technical skills. Benefits, Pay, Schedule not present, so omit those sections.
Thus we will have sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills. But we need to avoid duplication. Let's map:
- About the role: Position Summary + focus of Wolfe Laboratory (interdisciplinary team, goal). Also maybe lab information link.
- Responsibilities: Essential Functions (list per level) + Major Responsibilities (in addition to standard set). Could combine into a single list? But we need to preserve detail; we could list bullet points for each duty. However the essential functions are lengthy and have sub-bullets per level. We could present as a nested list? The instruction: use
- for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. So we can have a
with each duty as - . For sub-items we could also use
- inside? Probably okay.
We need to avoid repeating same content across levels? The essential functions are cumulative: RA I duties, RA II adds, etc. We could list all duties as they appear for each level, but that repeats. Better to capture the cumulative nature: maybe list RA I duties, then note additional duties for higher levels. But we must preserve all substantive information; we can't omit details like "May assist with training of new lab personnel" for RA II etc. We could present as a hierarchical list: RA I duties, then RA II additional duties, etc. That preserves all.
Similarly for Requirements: we have RA I qualifications, RA II adds, etc. We'll present similarly.
Skills: Experience Required (Basic molecular biology techniques, Mammalian Cell culture) and Experience Desired (Genome editing, Illumina Sequencing library preparation, Experience using mouse disease models). Could be under Skills.
We must not include boilerplate like EEO statement.
We also need to include lab information link as maybe a
with link.
Let's craft.

About the role
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) or designee, the Research Associate provides operational support to the laboratory. The Research Associate will perform research experiments as defined by the PI. This is an open‑rank posting (there are 4 levels of Research Associate) – candidates will be hired into the level commensurate with their experience.
The Wolfe Laboratory focuses on the development of genome editing tools, such as base editors and prime editors, to employ as new classes of therapeutics for neurological and neuromuscular disorders and cancer. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of laboratory scientists, clinicians, and computational biologists working on therapeutics, with the goal of developing and characterizing novel genome editing systems that could be used in clinical trials.

Check for any duplicated content: We have "Provide support with drafting standard operation procedures in compliance to EHS regulation specific for the lab." appears in RA I and RA II; we kept it in RA I list and also RA II additional list (duplicate). That's okay as it's part of both levels; but we might consider removing duplicate to avoid redundancy. However the instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; duplicate is still substantive but repeating may be considered unnecessary. Safer to keep as is? Might be considered duplication but it's actually part of both levels; we could note it in RA I and mention RA II adds training etc. But we already have it in RA I list; RA II list includes same line again. Could remove duplicate from RA II to avoid repetition while still preserving that RA II also includes that duty (since it's already in RA I). However RA II's description says "Provide support with drafting standard operation procedures in compliance to EHS regulation specific for the lab." which is same as RA I. If we remove it, we lose explicit mention that RA II also does it, but it's implied because RA I duties are included. The posting says RA II duties noted above plus: then lists additional duties, which includes that line again maybe inadvertently. To be safe, we could
