Research Associate in Quantum-Enabled Space Communications
About the role
The School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW offers a Research Associate position to develop quantum‑enabled synchronisation algorithms for deployment on space‑based platforms. The role involves contributing to research on quantum and classical optical communication systems, advanced electronic instrumentation, electronic circuit design, FPGA programming, and sophisticated signal‑processing algorithms for space‑based synchronisation applications. You will work independently and collaboratively, contribute to scholarly publications and research activities, engage with stakeholders and research partners, participate in conferences and workshops, and assist with the supervision of research students where required. The position reports to Professor Robert Malaney and has no direct reports. It is a full‑time, fixed‑term contract located at the Kensington campus in Sydney, Australia, running until September 2027.
