Research Associate in Psychology
The University of Virginia’s Early Development Laboratory, under the direction of Dr. Angeline Lillard, seeks applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The position will involve working on projects related to Montessori education, its fundamental processes with respect to basic human development, and its outcomes.
About the role
- Primarily responsible for running and disseminating collaborative research studies with graduate students and the PI
- An active participant in the laboratory
- Overseeing and teaching undergraduate research assistants who work in the laboratory for course credit
- Having an important role in analysis, writing, and dissemination of results from our research
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in psychology or a closely related field by the appointment start date is required
- A solid publication record and experience conducting and disseminating research on fields related to the laboratory’s foci, such as social cognition, embodied cognition, and play/playful learning in children
- Training in Montessori education is strongly preferred
- Experience supervising and mentoring undergraduate research assistants
- Strong leadership and social skills
- Strong organizational and management skills

Pay
The anticipated salary range is $60,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
