About the role

Immuno-Oncology Research at Moderna is seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate to join our efforts in developing new mRNA-based drugs for cancer therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Use Moderna’s mRNA products to demonstrate expression and characterize activity of immuno-oncology and autoimmune therapeutic proteins relevant in vitro and/or in vivo experimental systems
  • Gain knowledge of preclinical cancer models, autoimmune models, and toxicology models
  • Perform and/or support experiments and assays such as immune cell isolation, cell culture, ELISA/MSD, flow cytometry, cell-based functional and reporter assays, sample processing and analysis for pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies
  • Work collaboratively within direct team, as well as with a cross-functional team of scientists
  • Maintain an organized work area and electronic lab notebook
  • Analyze, visualize, and summarize experimental data, including team meeting presentations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 0+ years of relevant experience in an immuno-oncology/immunology setting
  • Technical experience in Mammalian cell culture, cell transfections, long-term immune cell cultures, co-culture assays, and multi-color flow cytometry
  • Experience in protein detection methods (MSD, ELISA), Multi-color flow cytometry and analysis, assay development and troubleshooting, familiarity with immune cell handling, and qPCR and ddPCR

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as the ability to contribute to high performing teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Human/NHP primary cell culture experience
  • Proficiency with GraphPad Prism and Omiq for flow cytometry data analysis

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $63,200.00 - $100,900.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs.
