About the role

We are seeking a highly driven and meticulous researcher to join a team developing the next generation of CRISPR-based therapeutics. The role will work collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams, including protein engineers, process sciences, computational biologists, NGS, and disease experts.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute in vitro cellular and molecular biology assays, analyze, and document results to support both our molecule engineering platform and CNS biology discovery workstreams.
  • Provide robust, hands-on mammalian tissue culture (TC) support, including routine maintenance and handling of engineered and primary/complex cell lines.
  • Optimize and validate molecular and cell-based assays to support screening.
  • Perform and own routine molecular biology workflows, such as plasmid cloning, bacterial transformations, and minipreps/maxipreps.
  • Run quantitative molecular assays (e.g., CellTiter glow, ELISA, qPCR, ddPCR) to analyze target efficacy and gene editing outcomes.
  • Communicate research plans and results to team members verbally and in writing.
  • Effectively collaborate with members within a fully integrated team to facilitate execution on projects within established timelines.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Biology, Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related discipline with 3+ years (MSc) or 5+ years (BSc) relevant hands-on experience with methods analyzing DNA, RNA, and protein (ELISA, qPCR, ddPCR, flow cytometry, western blot, and other relevant techniques).
  • Cell culture experience with relevant primary and immortalized cell lines (iPSC-derived neurons, primary neurons, HEK, SH-SY5Y) is essential.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology techniques common in upstream research, including molecular cloning and processing genomic DNA and RNA for downstream analysis (qPCR, ddPCR, NGS) is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research team.

Skills

Preferred

  • Experience with different cellular transfection and transduction methods (AAV, LV, lipofection).
  • Experience with CRISPR-Cas gene editing systems and delivery technology.
  • Experience with high-throughput or high-content assays.
  • Working knowledge of molecular biology software.
  • Previous Pharma, Biotech, or CRO experience.
