Research Associate II - Social Sciences
About The Role
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a full-time (100% FTE) Research Associate II - Social Sciences.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols.
- Collect, process and analyze data.
- Summarize research and test results.
- Auxiliary in study protocol development.
- Cook up, maintain and manage equipment, instruments and data collection and analysis tools.
- Prepare and contribute statistical data and pertinent information for papers, grants and other documents.
- Complete required documentation for regulatory agencies.
- Obtain, enter, clean, and analyze medical and psychiatric subject data from medical records submitted by the field healthcare providers, case workers, Department of Children and Family Services authorized agents, foster parents, etc. relating to the use of psychotropic medication.
- Autonomously use professional judgment and discretion needed when gathering complex information on each subject.
- Follow protocol to communicate updates to healthcare providers on changes in procedure related to research findings.
- Contribute to research which helps to provide improved future clinical care, oversight, and influence policy.
- When concerning trends are identified, notify research supervisors and/or the Principal Investigator in order to develop and implement proper guidelines to promote quality assurance.
- Assess quality assurance to ensure best practice standards and recommendations of research findings are being upheld.
- Perform literature reviews, attend educational forums, and collaborate with Research team including Registered Nurses and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists regarding research findings.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required.
- A minimum of one year related research experience.
- Knowledge of research concepts, practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or nursing.
- Experience in psychopharmacology.
Benefits & Compensation
The previously determined salary range for this position is $50,000.00-$54,361.00. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications. The final salary will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements. This position is intended to be eligible for benefits. This includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, a Retirement Plan, Paid time Off, and Tuition waivers for employees and dependents.
