Research Associate I, In Vivo

Job Overview

Pharmaron (San Diego) is looking for talented and motivated individuals to join our In Vivo Operations team as a Research Associate I. In this role, you will contribute to pharmacokinetic (PK) studies by conducting in vivo procedures in preclinical models.

Responsibilities

• Conduct In Vivo experiments in large animals, including animal handling, dosing (IP, IV, PO, SC, etc.), blood collection, sample collection, animal monitoring, weighing, and necropsy.
• Ensure compliance with GLP regulations, study protocols, and company SOPs.
• Review documentation to ensure functions performed meet quality control requirements.
• Handle, restrain, and provide care for all species of laboratory animals at the site.
• Perform study preparation activities, including collection tube labeling and room setup.
• Perform catheter placements in large animals.
• Collaborate with study directors, principal investigators, and QC/QA.
• Maintain accurate records in various internal databases.
• Support internal research projects to optimize service offerings.
• Perform aseptic techniques.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.

What We're Looking For

• Strong communication skills with attention to detail who thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Associates degree (preferred) in veterinary technology with 2 years' relevant experience.
• BS with at least 1-year relevant experience.
• Education level requirements could be amended based on relevant years of experience.
• Certification as a registered veterinarian technician (RVT) is a plus.
• Background in lab animal (in vivo) research is a plus.
• Working knowledge of preclinical techniques and modalities will be a plus.
