Research Associate I - Bioassay

Job Summary

At BioLegend, this position contributes to new product development by performing bioassays to evaluate recombinant proteins and neutralizing antibodies. Primary responsibilities include executing cell-based and binding assays to assess functional activity in accordance with established SOPs, as well as supporting the development, optimization, and validation of new bioassays.

Essential Functions

- Perform bioassays following established protocols. - Contribute to optimization and validation of new bioassays. - Troubleshoot assay performance as needed to ensure data quality. - Maintain tumor cell lines using aseptic technique. - Isolate primary cells. - Perform data analysis and keep good records and documentation. - Other projects or responsibilities as may be required.

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Biology, Immunology, or other related discipline) - 2 years of academic or industry laboratory experience - 1+ year of experience with tissue culture of mammalian cell lines

Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience

- Experience in primary cell cultures - 2 years of experience in performing bioassay - Familiarity with basic lab equipment and knowledge of lab safety protocols - Outstanding organization and communication - Highly motivated and a good team player

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Lab While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
