Research Associate - Early Literacy

Position Information

The Department of Human Development and Child Studies, housed in the School of Education and Human Services, invites applications to a part-time Research Associate position to work on a newly funded research and evaluation project on Early Literacy coaching.

Job Duties

• Responsibilities include literature review, document review, instrument design;
• Develop interview/focus group protocols and conduct interviews/focus groups;
• Manage/arrange data collection, including supervising focus group interviewers;
• Survey data collection, entry, cleaning, and processing;
• Coding and data analysis;
• Help with report writing;
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Earned PhD in Early Childhood Education
• Attendance at the Essentials Instructional Practices in Early Literacy Training of Trainers (TOT) in Birth to 3 and/or Prekindergarten
• Knowledge and/or experience conducting interviews and focus groups
• Strong background in qualitative research
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Good command of Google Suite
• Open to learning new technology and research approaches

• Prior experience with program evaluation
