Research Associate CDB/AFCRI (CS)

Location: Philadelphia, PA

This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).

About the role

Expertise is required in the specific area of mouse models of disease, metabolism, cancer biology, biochemistry, and computational approaches. The successful applicant will investigate Urea Cycle Disorders, obesity, and liver cancer, and contribute to the development of potential new treatments for obesity and dietary interventions of Urea Cycle Disorders.

Responsibilities

• Investigation of Urea Cycle Disorders, obesity, and liver cancer
• Development of potential new treatments for obesity and dietary interventions of Urea Cycle Disorders
• Further development of critical thinking skills and expertise in relevant literature and experimental techniques
• Preparation of manuscripts and extramural funding proposals
• Presentation of research at international meetings
• Mentoring junior scientists
• Participation in University-sponsored career development workshops

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree
• Minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience
