We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to join the Research and Interventional Radiology team within the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences. The ideal candidate will have a medical background, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience adhering to Good Clinical Practices (GCP) in clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day clinical research activities, including preparing and interacting with the Institutional Review Board (IRB), managing study costs/budgets, and ensuring compliance with study protocols, GCP, and applicable regulations.
  • Implement processes and organize efforts within the study team to achieve objectives, coordinating research procedures, study visits, and follow-up care.
  • Create and maintain tools and documentation to track study metrics, providing updates to faculty and the department.
  • Conduct pre-study, site qualification, study initiation, monitoring visits, and close-out activities.
  • Maintain source documents and report adverse events.
  • Recruit, screen, enroll, and obtain consent from study participants.
  • Oversee assigned studies from initiation through conduct and closeout.
  • Set up data collection tools, primarily using RedCAP, and interface with the University of Utah’s Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) OnCore.
  • Collect and maintain patient and laboratory data, as well as regulatory binders.
  • Work directly with study participants, serve as a project liaison to other departments and outside organizations, and work under the direction of Principal Investigators (PI) and department administration.
  • Handle work assignments of increasing complexity with moderate supervision and some latitude for independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences or related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
  • Two years of professional research experience.
  • Completion of University RATS Clinical Certification within one year of hire.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), FDA, HIPAA, and IRB regulations; understanding of research procedures; and ability to function independently.
  • This position is patient-sensitive and requires immunization according to CDC standards and hospital policy, with limited exemptions for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs.

Preferences

  • Previous experience with industry-sponsored studies, investigator-initiated studies, and medical imaging studies.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1/2 time hybrid).

Department: Radiology Research.

Location: Campus.

Pay Rate Range: $50,000–$58,000.
