Duties and Responsibilities
- Make solutions and perform shared lab duties such as:Autoclaving, Cleaning, Waste removal
- Read scientific literature and participate in lab group meetings.
- Collaborate with a part-time undergraduate on a shared project.
- Design and interpret experiments studying the development and regeneration of Drosophila intestine.
- Perform molecular biology and confocal microscopy assays.
- Take careful notes, record results, and prepare figures for publication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology.
- Prior experience in confocal microscopy.
- Prior experience in making solutions and performing standard molecular biology techniques.
- At least 1 year of experience doing full-time lab work.
- Must be able to independently plan their daily tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Drosophila husbandry and genetic crosses.
- Interest or experience working on developmental biology.
- Familiar with intestine anatomy, development, and regeneration.
