Research Associate

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient serum and plasma samples, including aliquoting, dilution, and extraction activities following established SOPs
• Support testing activities on LC-MS platforms and automated immunoassay analyzers
• Load samples, reagents, controls, and consumables onto analytical instruments
• Review test results for completeness and escalate unusual findings as needed
• Perform routine quality control procedures and document results accurately
• Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, laboratory quality standards, and regulatory requirements
• Record testing activities, QC data, maintenance logs, and laboratory documentation in approved systems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
• Absorb reagent preparation, inventory management, and supply tracking
• Assist with method validation, proficiency testing, and laboratory training activities
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely completion of testing and operational objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and handling human biological specimens
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed SOPs in a regulated environment
• Excellent documentation, organization, and communication skills
• Experience working in a CAP/CLIA-regulated laboratory preferred
• Academic, internship, or hands-on experience with LC-MS and/or immunoassay platforms preferred
• ASCP certification (or certification-eligible status) preferred
• Prior experience in a clinical, diagnostic, or regulated laboratory environment preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented laboratory setting and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
