About the role

The Research Associate will work directly with the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Matt Kraft, to advance a range of ongoing research projects related to the teacher labor market and teacher compensation reforms. The position will play a supporting role in conducting background research on a wide range of topics, as well as analyzing a variety of labor market datasets.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct background research on a wide range of topics related to teacher labor market and compensation reforms.
  • Analyze various labor market datasets using Stata and/or R.
  • Support the PI in conducting research projects related to the teacher labor market and teacher compensation reforms.
  • Collaborate with the research team and external partners to advance knowledge initiatives.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in relevant field and 2 to 5 years of research experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Significant experience in K-12 teaching and/or working with federal datasets including those maintained by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • A strong quantitative background.
  • Experience using Stata and/or R to analyze data.
  • A strong interest in education research.

Qualifications

  • Excellent judgment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Skills with Google suite apps.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

Benefits

Preferable to work remotely. This is a fixed term position with the possibility of renewal annually. This position is contingent on funding.
