About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Research Associate 1 to work in Boca Raton, FL.

Responsibilities

• Conducts laboratory experiments on assigned research projects.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
• Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures.
• Performs calculations to complete research test results, collects data, and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results.
• Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
• Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
• Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research.
• Assists with setting up smartwatches and smartphones for research studies.
• Recruits participants to research studies via email and phone.
• Interacts with participants during in-person research study visits.
• Assists in coordinating research studies (examples: setting up meetings, taking meeting minutes, tracking study progress).
• Works closely with the Principal Investigator and other researchers as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrates critical judgment to maintain data security and confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
• No previous experience required.
