Responsibilities

- Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research.
- Collections, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures.
- Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
- Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
- Performs calculations to complete research test results, collects data, and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Core Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
- Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Learning Agility, Teamwork, Technical Proficiency, Communication.
Department Specific Functions
- Responsible for lab housekeeping duties, such as prepare reagents, autoclave supplies, stocklab consumables, and maintain sample biorepository.
- Affixes to PI in the operating room, which includes tissue procurement and specimen processing for biorepository.
- Maintains mouse colonies, which includes breeding, genotyping, and performing necropsies.
- Conducts experiments using murine ocular melanoma model.
- Prepares and presents data at weekly lab meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
