Responsibilities

• Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
• Participates in the publication of significant results.

• Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research.
• Collections, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment.
• Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies.
• Performs calculations to complete research test results, collects data, and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required.
• Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes: Learning Agility, Teamwork, Technical Proficiency, Communication.

Department Specific Functions

• Responsible for lab housekeeping duties, such as prepare reagents, autoclave supplies, stocklab consumables, and maintain sample biorepository.
• Affixes to PI in the operating room, which includes tissue procurement and specimen processing for biorepository.
• Maintains mouse colonies, which includes breeding, genotyping, and performing necropsies.
• Conducts experiments using murine ocular melanoma model.
• Prepares and presents data at weekly lab meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
