Research Associate 1
for sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. We need to parse the posting. Content: - Title: Coral Recruit Technician – Research Associate I Coral Reef Futures Lab (but we do not repeat title as heading). - About the role: The paragraph after title: "The Coral Recruit Technician is an integral part of the University of Miami’s Land-Based Coral Facility team at The Rosenstiel School on Virginia Key, FL. This position supports reef research and restoration conducted by the Coral Reef Futures Lab. Specifically, the coral recruit technician carries out the sexual propagation and subsequent care of Caribbean coral juveniles within the lab’s aquaculture facility and research spaces. This is a key period in coral development during which the employee’s attention to detail, drive, and determination contribute directly to the production and survival of coral recruits." That's about the role. - Responsibilities: Listed under "Key Responsibilities:" bullet list. - Requirements & qualifications: includes bullet list of requirements and then "Preferred qualifications/competencies:" list. We need to separate Requirements and Qualifications maybe. The instruction: Use headings for sections like Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to decide what content fits each. We have: Requirements: Bachelor’s degree..., U.S. citizenship..., Knowledge..., Strong organizational..., Ability to communicate..., Accountability..., Ability to troubleshoot..., Ability to work outdoors... Preferred qualifications/competencies: Experience with coral spawning..., Experience with saltwater aquaria..., AAUS Scientific Diving certification, MOCC Boating certification. Skills: Could be derived from abilities: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, Ability to communicate effectively, Ability to troubleshoot, etc. But we might put skills under Skills heading. Qualifications: Could be degree, citizenship, certifications. But we need to avoid duplication. We can structure: - About the role (h3) with paragraph. - Responsibilities (h3) with ul li. - Requirements (h3) with ul li (the mandatory requirements). - Qualifications (h3) with ul li (preferred qualifications/competencies). - Skills (h3) maybe combine some abilities? But we already have many abilities in Requirements. Could move some to Skills. However we must not invent sections without content. If we put Skills, we need specific skill content. We could extract: Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, Ability to troubleshoot and communicate or delegate tasks effectively. Those are skills. But they are already in Requirements. Might be okay to duplicate? The instruction: Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. Duplication is allowed? It says preserve all substantive information; not forbid duplication. But better to avoid duplication by moving some to Skills and keep Requirements focused on education, citizenship, knowledge. Let's decide. Requirements (mandatory): - Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - U.S. citizenship, or valid U.S. work authorization. - Knowledge of coral biology, aquaculture, marine science, and/or related fields. - Ability to work for several hours a day in outdoor shadehouse facilities in South Florida, which can be particularly warm and humid during the summer. Qualifications (preferred): - Experience with coral spawning and rearing sexually derived coral recruits - Experience with saltwater aquaria, coral husbandry, life support systems, and/or water quality - AAUS Scientific Diving certification - MOCC Boating certification Skills: - Strong organizational and interpersonal skills - Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, researchers, and members of the public - Accountability and attention to detail, particularly when working with living organisms and time-sensitive husbandry needs - Ability to troubleshoot and communicate or delegate tasks effectively That seems reasonable. Now Benefits, Pay, Schedule: Not mentioned. So we omit those sections. Work Environment: Not a heading we have; but we could maybe include under About the role or Responsibilities? The instruction only allows those specific headings. We could incorporate work environment details into About the role or Responsibilities as prose. But we must preserve all substantive information. We can add a paragraph under About the role that includes work environment details. Or we could create a separate section like "Work Environment" but not allowed heading. So we need to fold it into existing sections. We have About the role currently only includes description. We can extend About the role paragraph to include work environment details: "Although this position includes work with indoor systems, laboratories, and spawning tanks, most time will be spent at the outdoor land-based coral facility..." etc. We also have "Position occasionally involves physically demanding duties, including lifting and transporting items weighing up to 50 pounds." Could be included in About the role or Responsibilities. We need to ensure we preserve all substantive information. Let's extract all substantive info: - About the role description (first paragraph). - Work environment details: indoor systems, labs, spawning tanks; most time outdoors at land-based coral facility; additional opportunities to support field efforts; South Florida weather unpredictable/extreme; sun-protective clothing required; prepared to work up to 4-5 hours outdoors; occasional outside regular work week; accountable for responding to equipment alerts; involvement in nighttime spawning activities; physically demanding duties lifting up to 50 lbs. - Responsibilities list (Key Responsibilities): - Assist with the production, rearing, and outplanting of sexually derived coral recruits - Perform daily husbandry and maintain aquarium systems. - Monitor coral health to identify and address issues as they arise. - Coordinate daily and weekly husbandry activities, including developing and assigning tasks to student volunteers. - Must adhere to and instruct based on standard operating procedures for coral systems. - Assist with the diagnosis and resolution of plumbing, electrical, and other operational issues associated with aquarium systems. - Coordinate with graduate students and other staff in the Coral Reef Futures Lab to support ongoing research efforts. - Respond as a team member to system equipment failures in an on-call capacity, with the ability to think critically to diagnose and resolve issues in coordination with other team members. - Participate in evening and nighttime coral spawning, fertilization, and larval care activities, with occasional work schedule changes to work on weekends or public holidays to accommodate these activities during the spawning season. - Requirements (mandatory): - Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - U.S. citizenship, or valid U.S. work authorization. - Knowledge of coral biology, aquaculture, marine science, and/or related fields. - Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. - Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, researchers, and members of the public. - Accountability and attention to detail, particularly when working with living organisms and time-sensitive husbandry needs. - Ability to troubleshoot and communicate or delegate tasks effectively. - Ability to work for several hours a day in outdoor shadehouse facilities in South Florida, which can be particularly warm and humid during the summer. - Preferred qualifications/competencies: - Experience with coral spawning and rearing sexually derived coral recruits - Experience with saltwater aquaria, coral husbandry, life support systems, and/or water quality - AAUS Scientific Diving certification - MOCC Boating certification We have duplicated some skills in both Requirements and Skills. To avoid duplication, we can move the skills to Skills section and keep Requirements to education, citizenship, knowledge, ability to work outdoors. Let's decide: Requirements (mandatory): - Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, environmental science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - U.S. citizenship, or valid U.S. work authorization. - Knowledge of coral biology, aquaculture, marine science, and/or related fields. - Ability to work for several hours a day in outdoor shadehouse facilities in South Florida, which can be particularly warm and humid during the summer. Skills: - Strong organizational and interpersonal skills - Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, researchers, and members of the public - Accountability and attention to detail, particularly when working with living organisms and time-sensitive husbandry needs - Ability to troubleshoot and communicate or delegate tasks effectively Qualifications (preferred): - Experience with coral spawning and rearing sexually derived coral recruits - Experience with saltwater aquaria, coral husbandry, life support systems, and/or water quality - AAUS Scientific Diving certification - MOCC Boating certification Now About the role: include description plus work environment details and physical demands. Let's craft About the role paragraph(s). Could be multiple
under same heading? The instruction: Use
for prose. We can have multiple
elements under the heading. We'll output:
