Research Assistant, MEL Core
About the role
The Strategic Data Initiatives team at Child Mind Institute is seeking a non-exempt, full-time, hybrid position located in our NYC headquarters office. This position requires a minimum of four (4) days per week in the office, on a schedule determined by your supervisor. The in-office requirement and schedule are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support the MEL core and collaborate with other internal and external teams on a variety of new and existing research initiatives.
- Support projects that vary in nature depending on priorities set by leadership at a given time, ranging from data collection with children and parents, literature searches, and behavioral data analysis.
- Support research project development and implementation.
- Collaborate with others to produce and disseminate publications.
- Support study implementation, coordination, and data collection with research participants.
- Facilitate drafting and monitoring study protocols and related documentation.
- Format, design, and build online assessments in multiple platforms including REDCap and Curious.
- Conduct and summarize scientific literature review, support data organization and analyses, result interpretation, and drafting of reports or manuscripts for publication.
- Attend and present at team meetings.
- Provide administrative support for research project operations.
- Perform additional job-related duties as needed, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Neuroscience, Engineering, or other related scientific fields.
- One year of prior clinical and/or research experience, including undergraduate research experience.
- Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Suite.
Qualifications
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with data management software (e.g., REDCap).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
