Job Duties
- Experiment tasks include but are not limited to immunohistochemistry, western blotting, tissue imaging, mouse surgeries, and cell culture.
- Handles a few mouse colonies, performs molecular biology and cell culture experiments, and conducts the related data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Performs animal colony maintenance and husbandry, including genotyping or postoperative care when needed.
- Conducts literature searches and summaries to aid in planning of laboratory experiments.
- Interacts with core facilities for processing of tissue or other experimental samples.
- Orders lab supplies and maintains laboratory inventories.
- Collects, analyzes, and summarizes experimental data into graphs and presentation format and assists with publications as needed.
- Documents experiments in laboratory notebooks accurately that would allow others to successfully replicate experiments.
- Maintains lab equipment, arranges for service repairs, and ensures that all machines are in good working condition.
- Maintains lab inventories of chemicals, reagents, consumables, drugs, cell stocks, and tissue samples.
- Monitors supplies for re-ordering.
- Aids in protocol renewals and inspections.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Prior expertise in immunology, drug development, cardiac physiology, or biochemistry.
