About the Role
The Research Assistant II will coordinate and implement subject recruitment, enrollment, follow-up, data collection, and study conduct.
Responsibilities
- Manage the administrative aspects of the research study, including program records and communication needs.
- Assist in the development of reports, presentations, and data analysis.
- Support data collection and provide feedback on the study’s progress.
- Recruit subjects using approved methodologies (e.g., healthcare provider referrals, clinic visits, mailouts, advertisements).
- Conduct enrollment of study participants, including explaining research procedures and obtaining informed consent.
- Schedule appointments, conduct reminder calls, and send mailouts to participants.
- Review data collection forms for completion and quality; verify accuracy of junior staff’s data entry.
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff.
- Obtain and distribute payment vouchers for participant reimbursements.
- Perform administrative duties related to the study’s Data Monitoring and Safety Board (DSMB), including tracking and reporting adverse events.
- Prepare and maintain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals, amendments, and renewals.
- Conduct literature searches and assist investigators with manuscript and presentation preparation.
- Perform general office duties (e.g., answering phones, handling mail, ordering supplies, scanning, filing, maintaining policy manuals).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (required). Master’s degree (preferred).
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in research or clinical program activities.
- Experience with subject recruitment and understanding of ethical and technical research conduct.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
- Bilingual or multilingual skills (a plus).
- Cultural sensitivity and comfort working with diverse social, racial, and ethnic populations.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Experience with statistical analysis tools (a plus).
- Ability to perform basic data management tasks (coding, data entry, data cleaning, retrieval).
- Experience with quantitative data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Minitab) is helpful.

Pay
Compensation range: $18.27–$25.72 per hour. This range is based on minimum job qualifications and considers factors such as education, experience, skills, certifications, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Geographic location may modify the range.
