About the role
The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Health Sciences Center seeks a Research Assistant II. This position involves understanding autoimmune diseases and developing treatments, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and maintaining mouse colonies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments including cell separation and experiments using molecular and cellular techniques
- Work with mouse models of autoimmune disease
- Collate and analyze experimental data
- Make graphics
- Maintain databases
- Maintain mouse colonies
- Prepare materials and equipment for laboratory tests
- Perform general lab duties as assigned
Requirements
- A minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Qualifications
- Proficiency in the use of computers, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with sterile techniques and cell culture
- Experience working with mice
