About the Role

The Research Assistant will support clinical trials and research studies aimed at evaluating depressive symptoms following treatment with an investigational drug compared with placebo in participants with treatment-resistant depression. This role involves working closely with the research team, study participants, and healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth and ethical execution of research projects.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and screen participants for research studies.
  • Collect and document clinical data.
  • Obtain informed consent from study participants.
  • Assist with clinical procedures.
  • Manage and analyze research data.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance throughout the study.
  • Coordinate study activities and maintain participant follow-up.
  • Monitor quality assurance and report adverse events.
  • Perform laboratory experiments and activities to support research objectives, including handling biological samples and data collection.
  • Collect, organize, and prepare research data for principal investigators and other researchers.
  • Update notebooks, records, and databases as needed.
  • Maintain a clean laboratory environment and ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Order laboratory and other supplies as directed by senior research staff.
  • Stay current with new and updated procedures and protocols for the research laboratory.
  • Maintain compliance with required training.
  • Participate in continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops.
  • Coordinate the work of technicians to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (may substitute with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum).
  • No prior experience required.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
