Research Assistant I

About the role

The position will require working in a laboratory setting as well as in a mouse facility. It is a one-year term position from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, contingent upon work performance and continued funding to support the position.

Responsibilities

• Mouse genotyping
• Preparation of samples for immunohistochemistry
• Cloning of plasmids
• Cell culture work
• Imaging samples with fluorescence microscopy
• Measuring protein levels by Western blot
• Participating in lab meetings
• Maintaining records

Requirements

• College background or equivalent work experience, preferably in a related discipline
• At least one year of related work experience in laboratory-based research (relevant course work may count towards some, though not all, work experience)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred (Cell biology, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Immunology, Microbiology)

• Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hrs. per week | Monday - Friday | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
