Research Assistant

About the role

The Research Assistant in the Naresh K. Vashisht College of Medicine Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics (NExT) provides skilled, administrative, and technical support in research. They assist with phases in a research project and collaborate with other research personnel.

Responsibilities

• Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research and keeps detailed records of data.
• Assists in the installation and operation of research equipment. May repair research equipment.
• Uses and computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and results.
• Collaborates with other research personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated experience in prior roles requiring strong organizational skills, attention to cleanliness and order, and effective teamwork in settings similar to this position.
• Previous laboratory experience.
• Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Psychology, or related fields preferred.

Skills

• Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
• Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment.
• Attention to detail.
• Intimate knowledge of NEXT laboratory maintenance and NEXT equipment.
• Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.
