About the role
The Research and Training Associate position is part of J-PAL’s Research, Education, and Training (RET) team, which aims to equip policymakers, researchers, and staff with the necessary knowledge and tools to conduct rigorous impact evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implementation of research projects using econometric methods and randomized evaluations.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to support policy recommendations.
- Collaborate with researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to disseminate findings and promote evidence-based policy.
- Support the development of educational materials and training programs for policymakers and researchers.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of work experience, including in quantitative data analysis/science, economics, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, math, political science, education, international development, or other related fields.
- Training in and a strong technical understanding of econometrics and/or randomized evaluations.
Preferred
- A Master’s degree.
- Further training in and a strong technical understanding of econometrics and/or randomized evaluations.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with statistical software such as Stata, R, or Python.
