About the role

Analysis Group is one of the largest international economics consulting firms, with more than 1,500 professionals across 15 offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. Since 1981, we have provided expertise in economics, finance, health care analytics, and strategy to top law firms, Fortune Global 500 companies, and government agencies worldwide. The Research & Knowledge Services (RKS) team partners with case teams, business functions, and firm leadership to generate intelligence that supports litigation-related research, competitive analysis, and market insights.

The Specialist will conduct a wide range of research requests—spanning expert witness materials, court filings, legal trends, and competitor intelligence—on behalf of individual consultants, practice groups, and the firm. They will actively contribute to the internal systems and workflows that make research outputs reusable and accessible over time. The role requires intellectual curiosity, creativity, exceptional attention to detail, and strong judgment in assessing the relevance and credibility of research results.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate incoming research requests to clarify scope, objectives, and expected deliverables.
  • Conduct legal, litigation, and business development research using internal and external tools, including CourtLink, Bloomberg Law, LexisNexis, Westlaw, CRM systems, SharePoint, expert materials repositories, and other knowledge management resources.
  • Locate, review, and summarize publicly available expert witness materials and litigation documents, including reports, testimony, motions, and related filings.
  • Prepare clear, concise research outputs, including litigation histories, matter summaries, legal trends summaries, and competitor insights.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage expert materials and related research assets for business development, competitive intelligence, practice development, litigation trend analysis, and knowledge sharing.
  • Help evaluate and refine workflows for locating, reviewing, storing, annotating, and reusing expert materials and related litigation documents.
  • Maintain and improve databases, trackers, CRM records, and other internal systems to support information organization, data quality, retrieval, and reuse.
  • Identify and prototype AI-enabled efficiencies in document review, summarization, tagging, annotation, structured information extraction, and knowledge retrieval workflows.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across RKS, Marketing & Business Development, practice groups, and other firm functions on research projects, business development efforts, knowledge management priorities, and other marketing-related initiatives.
  • Take ownership of assigned expert research, document retrieval, repository maintenance, and recurring service responsibilities.
  • Proactively surface questions, gaps, and opportunities to improve the usefulness, reliability, and accessibility of RKS outputs.
  • Over time, develop a proactive role in shaping expert research best practices, identifying emerging needs, and recommending ways to leverage and improve existing resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of substantive relevant experience required.
  • 4 to 6 years of professional experience in legal research, litigation support, law firm library or research services, or a related environment preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with legal research, litigation dockets, and court filings required.
  • Experience with legal research platforms such as CourtLink, Bloomberg Law, LexisNexis, Westlaw, Lex Machina, Law360, or similar resources required.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, persistence, and creativity in locating difficult-to-find information, including the ability to adapt research strategies when standard sources or processes do not produce complete results.
  • Comfort working on research questions that may not have a clear step-by-step path, including the ability to identify leads, test alternative sources, and evaluate relevance.
  • Strong judgment, analytical reasoning, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while remaining flexible in response to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize legal and expert-related research findings clearly for different audiences.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn, contribute, and take ownership of assignments.
  • Exposure to Generative AI tools or large language model-based workflows for document review or information extraction is a plus.
  • Experience with CRM or knowledge management systems preferred.
