About the role
Manages field data collection and analysis operations of the Blue Carbon Recharge Center.
Works closely with faculty and graduate students with field work.
Serves as the University's credit card user for departmental transactions.
Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing.
The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
Maintains Laboratory field research.
Oversees field crew and work schedule to assure lab contracts are fulfilled.
Supervises and provides training to temporary, student employees, and lab interns on Laboratory and Field procedures.
Oversees boating and diving activities adherence to FIU boating and diving policies and procedures.
Drives and trailer small vessels.
Prepares and maintains all field and safety gear in the lab.
Ensures calibration are maintained and logged for all field instrumentation.
Ensures the availability of all equipment and supplies required for field sample campaigns.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of seagrass biology and ecology; Certified scientific diver.
