About the role

The Research Analyst I will be involved in all aspects of studies supporting the bioanalysis of drug molecules in multiple matrices. The position is hands-on, working in close cooperation with and under the guidance of more senior staff members in a fast-paced environment where a commitment to teamwork, quality data and speed is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform routine procedures for sample preparation.
  • Ability to use analytical instrumentation with the guidance of senior staff.
  • Identify and report difficulties with various aspects of sample preparation.
  • Ensure that raw data records are accurate, complete, and in appropriate order.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent in a scientific related discipline.
  • Related laboratory experience preferred, in a pharmaceutical or contract laboratory environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines under minimal direction.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard software including Microsoft® Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., and with standard laboratory calculations.
  • Proficiency in the use of analytical instrumentation software.

Pay

The pay range for this position is between $25-26/hr. Salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • The job requires the repetitive use of hands, sitting, standing, and walking and may require the lifting of up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • General office and lab working conditions; the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently be required to wear protective clothing (goggles, face shield, surgical mask, cap, gloves, scrubs, boots).
  • Work near toxic or caustic chemicals, work with biohazards, and/or work with live animals with risk of exposure to allergens and/or zoonotic diseases.
  • The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, unpleasant odors, and extreme temperature conditions.

Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert regulatory guidance. From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market. Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
