Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides consultation to and assists with the coordination of the Internal Review Board (IRB), Compliance, and Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) partnership activities.
- Aids in developing recommendations for final approval decisions, by seeking feedback from program offices, Section Manager and/or the executive leadership, following up with feedback, and communicating to partners.
- Administers and evaluates results/findings from required updates from research partners and ongoing research findings, including sharing results with executive leadership and program offices, garnering feedback, and questions, compiling these discussions, sharing with researchers, and scheduling/facilitating follow up conversations as needed.
- Recommends criteria, standards, guidelines and topics for the Cancer Surveillance Section research agenda.
- Aides in the development and recommendation of alternative state and division strategies, tools, and processes to support evaluation efforts across DVRHS.
- Evaluates contracts for compliance with division policies and procedures related to program plans and budgets; recommends needed revisions.
- Aides in the design and development of registry protocols and documents as needed/necessary for conduct of registry activities within statewide parameters for special studies as needed.
- Aides in reviewing documentation for research data requests, including Data Use Agreements, Data Sharing Agreements, Study Protocols, and research proposals.
- Attends all required in person and virtual meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops, as well as registry collaborations and sharing of ideas and information with department and key stakeholders.
- Prepares and distributes correspondence, recruiting materials, and other contacts as necessary to carry out specific research projects.
- Aides in tracking all registry correspondence related to data for approved research studies, including mailing/survey responses.
- Aides with contacting approved research study participants for recruitment purposes via phone or mail.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree is required.
- Experience: One year of professional experience.
- Important Skills and Characteristics: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attendance Record. Ability to work independently and as a team. Must be proficient in computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent responsibilities. Strong attention to deadlines and details. Knowledge of Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes, Data Use Agreements (DUAs), Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) procedures, and human subjects research requirements. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent responsibilities. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with health care professionals, key stakeholders and internal departments. Experience tracking project progress and facilitating communication among stakeholders. Effectively work with individuals with differing backgrounds and varying levels of education. Prepare and disseminate technical reports. Operate a personal computer, database, software videoconference and other relevant technology.
