About the role
At ISN, we are seeking a Research Analyst Assistant Team Lead to join our team in Winchester, VA or Clarksburg, WV. This position supports a federal agency in conducting investigation case information and preparing relevant reports based on information gathered through critical and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Team Lead in managing and coordinating the activities of the team, providing support to ensure efficient workflow and task allocation.
- Review not-reportable information requests submitted by team members, ensuring they meet necessary quality standards before submission to the Team Lead for final review.
- Respond to inquiries and questions from team members, providing guidance and clarification to resolve issues quickly and effectively, thus freeing up the Team Lead's time for higher-level tasks.
- Support the mentoring and development of team members by addressing routine queries and reinforcing best practices and analytical methodologies.
- Collaborate with the Team Lead to assess workload distribution and assist in balancing tasks across the team to meet deadlines and organizational goals.
- Ensure that the team’s work complies with applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies, particularly regarding data protection and security protocols.
- May assist the Team Lead in performing routine vetting requests, as required by the position of a Research Analyst.
Requirements
- Experience with derogatory information assessments, background checks, and vetting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-volume workloads while maintaining high standards of performance and adherence to timelines.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide, coach, and develop junior Research Analysts.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify discrepancies or errors in research findings and report packages.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback for team members.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex information to both team members and management.
- Problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues in research findings, processes, or team performance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive or classified information in accordance with applicable security regulations and policies.
- Be responsible for all project activities, both administrative and programmatic.
- Work independently under direction or in a team to collect, analyze, and present data from structured research and evaluation activities.
- Provide technical guidance in the completion of contract deliverables.
- Maintain metric and quality performance of Research Analysts for contract deliverables.
- Ensure the policies set forth in the various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed.
- Contribute to Monthly status reports for the COR and/or CO under the guidance of the PM and/or DPM.
- Understand and have experience in doing the responsibilities of a Research Analyst.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or three (3) or more years of experience with knowledge of administrative principles, practices, and techniques.
- Proficient computer skills, proficiency in navigating Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and Google Chrome.
- Experience in reviewing and validating the work of junior Research Analysts, ensuring the quality and accuracy of reports, findings, and conclusions.
