Research Aide

About the role
You will be a great fit if you have experience in the following areas:
- Breeding and research support
- Sowing, transplanting, harvesting, and seed processing of multiple Sonalaceae crops in the field and greenhouse
- Organizing and overseeing other workers in the greenhouse and field
- Conducting training for workers involved in key breeding activities
- Seed packaging, inventory, and shipment preparation
- Station greenhouse crop and facility management
- Preparing planting media in appropriate containers, sowing, thinning, and transplanting of seeds/seedlings
- General operational support for breeding, molecular, and plant pathology projects
- Working alongside contract laborers conducting routine operational and breeding activities
- Station operations support
- Setting up equipment and tools associated with key station activities including sowing, harvesting, seed extraction, fruit handling and processing, and seed packaging
- Supporting general site, lab, office, or greenhouse activities as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years working in agricultural research
- English and Spanish language fluency
- Working experience in the seed industry is desirable

Pay
This position’s range is $21 - $26/hr. Our total compensation and pay ranges reflect our market pay structures. Individual salaries or hourly rates are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: local geographical market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as job-related skills, education, and experience.
