Rescue Specialist - Search and Rescue (SAR) - Galliano, LA

About the role

Rescue Swimmer positions require expertise in advanced rescue techniques and equipment, capable of operating in various challenging scenarios including high hoists, confined areas, elevated platforms, off-center hoists, water rescue, and boat operations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in operations during the day and night, often under adverse weather conditions.
• Act as an observer as required.
• Package and handle patients/survivors from the scene into helicopters.
• Assist flight paramedics in patient care and provide care as per medical certification.
• Perform post-flight decontamination of the helicopter.
• Inventory, inspect, maintain, and repair rescue and aviation life support equipment.
• Deploy rescue equipment as needed.
• Support ground rescue operations as required.
• Engage in Safety Management System (SMS) activities, including reporting aviation safety issues and promoting a safety culture.
