Res Care Nurse (H) - Full Time, 1st Shift

Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate total nursing care for residents. The role participates in resident and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in a clinical setting, in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations, policies, procedures, ethical statements, resident rights, and the employee handbook.

Required Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Practical Nurse (LPN).

Preferred Qualifications

• Maximum exposure in regard to universal precautions.
• Positive service‑oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the needs of residents in the assigned neighborhood.
• Basic knowledge of principles related to the aging adult and problems associated with aging.
• Ability to assess data reflecting resident status and interpret information needed to identify each resident’s needs.
• Ability to provide care as directed by policy and procedure within the scope of an LPN/RN license.

Physical Demands

• Full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, climbing, squatting, kneeling, twisting, sitting, and standing.
• Required to lift 50 pounds or more, including work above the shoulders.
• Must have corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.
• Excellent verbal communication skills required for daily tasks.
• Classified at risk for possible occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens (HBV, HIV, etc.).
