Representative - Inside Sales
About the Role
As a Representative - Inside Sales, you will interact with existing customers to increase sales of the Company's products and/or services. You will obtain, create, and up-sell orders, creating customer satisfaction and adding value to the customer's buying experience. This role focuses on proactive selling techniques to add business or expand the current book of accounts and collaborates with outside sales to ensure goals are being met.
Responsibilities
- Obtain orders through email and telephone calls, verify and enter items, transfer orders to fulfillment, explain stock-outs, and provide expected delivery dates.
- Increase orders by suggesting related items, explaining features, and reviewing customer’s buying history.
- Own, qualify, and develop opportunities passed from marketing, outside sales, and national accounts.
- Identify ways for continuous improvement of processes.
- Prepare, generate, and follow up on verbal or written quotations to secure orders or determine reasons for loss of order.
- Review open customer order reports and take action on open items, including those at risk of missing the customer’s promised delivery date.
- Maintain distribution system backorder reports, associated customer expediting reports, notices, and customer notifications.
- Report industry trends, competitive pricing, and customer feedback to management.
Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in sales and sales administration; fully competent and productive professional contributor.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and potentially new accounts.
- Problem-solving skills to address a range of issues, choosing among existing solutions independently.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Travel requirement: 0% - 25%.
Pay
$26.02 - $32.53 per hour. This amount reflects the reasonable range for the position, though final offers may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or collective bargaining agreements. Eligible positions may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, with additional commission for certain sales roles based on performance.
