Responsibilities

  • Receive requests for price quotations, orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers and labs.
  • Achieve and maintain a rapport with customers and provide the best possible service.
  • Manage the return of overstock and defective lenses, frames, and accessories to various vendors, ensuring they meet the manufacturer's return policy.
  • Generate proper documentation for product returns.
  • Assist in the assembly, packaging, and marking of frames for monthly auto-kit mailings.
  • Maintain customer lists for auto-ship mailings.
  • Retrieve and input customer information, stock status, and order status using a PC.
  • Ensure correct codes are used and organize and file product information correctly.
  • Work closely with vendors to place orders, retrieve status information, and follow up on quotations and delivery.
  • Resolve problems and questions from co-workers and customers with a calm demeanor.
  • Communicate company policies, promotions, and negotiate diplomatically.
  • Sort and deliver mail to inter-department personnel and perform mid-day computer back-ups.
  • Perform an acceptable quantity and quality of work on time.
  • Cross-train and learn other duties and responsibilities of the department.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
  • Follow company and manufacturer's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with attendance and safety rules.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and HIPAA protected information.
  • Assist others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines, or maintain an even workload.
  • Demonstrate a good attitude and willingness to assist.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience working in customer service, hospitality, or call center environment.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult customer situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills, orientation to detail, and numerical accuracy.
  • Basic PC skills including MS Office; Word and Excel.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds.
