Representative Care Practitioner PRN, As Needed

Responsibilities

• Report to work on time and ready to work in a quiet, professional manner, following hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provide quality care as ordered by the patient's physicians.
• Initiate and evaluate respiratory protocols, including all modalities of therapy.
• Serve as a member of the patient care team to assess, develop care plans, evaluate appropriateness of respiratory care modalities, and assist with discharge planning as needed.
• Provide patient and family education related to medications and therapy modalities appropriate to assessed learning skills.
• Participate in monitoring quality of care.
• Organize workflow to maintain smooth transition between shifts.
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of respiratory care services, including neat and accurate documentation, entering charges for patient billing, monitoring and ordering supplies and medications, and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain current knowledge via hospital and department communication tools.
• Identify problems and recommend ideas and solutions; demonstrate critical thinking skills.
• Participate in and provide in-service training.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree (Required)
• CRT or RRT certification, must be obtained within 6 months of hire (Required)
• Kentucky Respiratory Therapist license (Required)
• One year of experience in respiratory care in a critical care setting (Desired)
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (National) (Desired)
