About the role

A sessional lecturer position in the Master of Health Informatics (MHI) program at the University of Toronto.

Responsibilities

• Course instructor for a professional graduate course using competency-based learning and assessment methods.
• Responsible for course design and assessment of student outcomes.
• Must be accessible to students outside of classroom hours.

Qualifications

• A PhD or Masters level education with recent experience in clinical and health informatics, preferably in the areas of ICT adoption, implementation, and evaluation.
• A robust understanding of clinical/clinician work processes, as influenced by health informatics and related technology.
• Past teaching experience related to health informatics, preferably at the graduate level.
• Prior experience in curriculum development and adult teaching-learning methods.
• Comfortable with electronic teaching tools such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas), PowerPoint, as well as on-line collaboration tools (Blogs, Wikis, Discussion Boards, Webinars, or Video-conferencing).

Skills

• Understanding of various approaches, tools and techniques used to evaluate health information systems.
• Ability to appropriately apply evaluation and research tools required to implement an evaluation plan.
• Ability to formulate and assess the merits of a health information system evaluation plan based on project objectives and goals.

Benefits

• Salary ranges from $9,997.47 - Sessional Lecturer I to $11,228.90 - Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term.

Pay

• Rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail if they vary from those stated in this posting.

Schedule

• Section 1: Modular sessions from 5:10 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, September 10, September 24, October 22, November 5, November 19, and December 3, 2026.
• Section 2: Modular sessions from 5:10 pm to 9 pm on Thursday, September 10, September 17, October 8, October 22, November 26, and December 3, 2026.
