About the Role

The Reporting & Analytics Specialist will be a collaborative, solution-oriented team member passionate about enhancing data analytics and reporting for varied user groups across Lincoln Financial Distributors. They will own recurring analytic or reporting processes using tools like Tableau, Dataiku, MicroStrategy, PostgreSQL, and Python, while assessing trends, automating manual work, and developing actionable insights to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and distribute standard or custom reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for executives, managers, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Acquire and compile structured and unstructured data, verifying its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to respond to clients’ questions on report generation, technical issues, or application problems (e.g., graph design, spreadsheet formatting, software functionality).
  • Establish and maintain close working relationships with clients and management to enhance understanding of business needs.
  • Research and integrate new or existing technologies into workflows and processes.
  • Develop best practices and maintain a team procedure manual for all department procedures and reports; identify and communicate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain reporting databases.
  • Build and optimize dashboards and self-service reporting solutions across Tableau (Desktop, Prep, Server/Cloud) and MicroStrategy.
  • Develop data preparation and automated workflows in Dataiku, focusing on integrity, usability, performance, flexibility, testability, and standardization.
  • Work with SQL and PostgreSQL, and apply knowledge of modern cloud data warehouse structures, concepts, and data governance/quality practices, including structured and semi-structured data.
  • Automate recurring reporting processes using Python and SQL to reduce manual effort, minimize errors, and improve scalability.
  • Explore and apply AI/GenAI-assisted analytics tools to accelerate report generation, surface insights, and support dashboard development.
  • Carry out duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • 4-year/Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, finance, econometrics, statistics, or a similar field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a reporting, analytical, and/or data role—or equivalent academic, internship, or project experience (e.g., relevant coursework, capstone projects).
  • Knowledge of data analytic processes.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
  • Basic proficiency in Python for data analysis and process automation.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence/dashboarding tools such as Tableau and MicroStrategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Dataiku or similar data preparation/workflow automation platforms.
  • Exposure to AI/GenAI tools applied to analytics and reporting workflows (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT-style assistants).
  • Familiarity with cloud data warehouse platforms and data governance/quality practices.
  • Experience in the financial services domain.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $55,700 - $100,200, with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range. Pay is based on factors including work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency, and qualifications. The base pay is one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package, which may also include eligibility for the Annual Incentive Program (discretionary, based on company, business unit, and individual performance), long-term incentives, sales incentives, and standard benefits.
