About the Role
WTVT-FOX 13 in Tampa is seeking a News Reporter/MMJ to join its team. This bureau position covers Pinellas County along the Gulf Coast, including St. Petersburg and Clearwater. As a weekday Reporter/MMJ, you will innovate, write, and deliver compelling content across all platforms—from linear newscasts to breaking news live streams. The role requires evolving beyond traditional television workflows to create content for all news platforms, with a focus on digital-first storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Present stories live in-studio and from remote locations, taking full ownership of content delivery.
- Shoot, write, and edit high-quality news video for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Serve as the expert for Pinellas County, covering areas from St. Pete to Tarpon Springs, and build a network of local sources.
- Write sharp, effective text copy for digital sites and maintain an active social media presence.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a reporter.
- A reel demonstrating your ability to shoot, edit, and produce content.
- Not an entry-level position; candidates must have a news-gathering background.
Pay
The pay range for this role is $78,000.00–$85,000.00 annually, with the final offer dependent on education, skills, experience, and location.
