Repairs Inspector

Responsibilities

• Inspects all component parts, noting required dimensions on inspection prints or other documentation provided.
• Disassembles and cleans/power washes parts, assemblies, and subassemblies as needed for inspection.
• Maintains organized storage of RMA components.
• Performs equipment maintenance and housekeeping duties.
• Aligns components and fastens them together.
• Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
• Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems.
• Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
• Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
• Plans assembly procedures and methods to assure efficient and timely progress.
• Inspects parts for proper machining finish and dimensions; checks and tests subassemblies and units.
• May be required to repair parts as needed.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED required).
• This position requires the knowledge of standard tools, materials methods, and practices required in assembling product.
• Required to read and interpret blueprints, read precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, calipers, tape measures, etc.), and operate a forklift and overhead crane.
• Must be able to read and write simple correspondence.
• Should have the ability to maintain machinery, equipment, and tools used in assembly.
• Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally; anything over 50 pounds requires two people, or the use of a lifting device.
