About the role

Repairable Auto Adjuster positions are available across various locations. Starting pay is $23.82 - $33.38 per hour, with Shelter maintaining broad salary ranges based on geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs, and market demands.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and settle automobile material damage claims.
• Determine coverage and liability, set reserves, and negotiate settlements within authority and in accordance with company procedures, policy provisions, and legal obligations.
• May support catastrophe teams for auto losses as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Superior skills in negotiation, communication, and customer service.
• Ability to learn on-the-job and through claims training courses of insurance policy coverage analysis and interpretation, and motor vehicle estimating.
• Strong skills in technology including keyboarding and familiarity with word processing software, electronic communications, automobile estimating software, and internet research capabilities.
• Good basic but advancing knowledge of automobile repair.
• Must acquire and maintain state licenses as applicable.
• A minimum of two years general business experience in an insurance setting, demonstrating experience in organization, communication, negotiation, and decision-making.
• For remote adjusters: High-speed internet access at home to support internal systems.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
