About the Role

We are seeking Repair Weld Operators for our new and growing Tier 1 supply company in Dalton, GA! The right candidate will be an energetic team player who is interested in becoming an expert and growing within our company for a long-term and satisfying career. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality by performing manual weld repairs prior to full production and supporting several key production functions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual weld repairs on assemblies.
  • Operate and manage robotic laser and assembly cells.
  • Support additional production activities as needed before full production ramp-up, including:
    • Assisting fabrication
    • Production tooling support
    • Working with maintenance when required
    • Building wraps and racks
    • Running assembly cells, lasers, and off-stacking for the press
  • Maintain flexibility in daily tasks based on production priorities.
  • Train future Repair Weld Operators as the department grows.
  • Conduct quick quality checks.
  • Handle quality control documentation and implementation.
  • Transport materials throughout the plant.
  • Assist in changing the welding devices.
  • Maintain cleanliness on laser machine and work area.

Requirements

  • Welding degree from an accredited institution.
  • Successfully complete and pass two welding qualification tests:
    • Visual welding test
    • Cut and etch test
  • Recent welding experience (must have held a welding-related job within the last year).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Willingness to assist other departments and adapt to shifting workloads.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment.
  • Requires frequent visual focus and sustained attention.
  • Ability to move throughout the plant, including upper-level areas.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors for repair tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
