Repair Tech 1

About the role

The Repair Technician performs repair and/or service work on Company products following prescribed procedures. The role involves using a variety of hand tools and small power tools to disassemble and repair customer tools. Each technician has access to a computer for reviewing Tool Service Bulletins, pack-out instructions for reconditioned tools, and parts or tools collected for Quality Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform all necessary repairs on tools and equipment.
• Read and comprehend repair order information and parts schematics.
• Diagnose tools by performing complete function tests.
• Confirm repairs by conducting full function tests.
• Complete repair order forms with accurate information.
• Disassemble units, diagnose operating issues, and replace worn or defective parts within specified timeframes.
• Assist in other areas of the cell, including 5S projects.
• Determine the feasibility of repairs.
• Keep records of parts used and provide data for billing and/or warranty purposes.
• Identify and report operational irregularities and defective materials.
• Set up and perform electrical and mechanical tests to ensure repairs meet quality standards.
• Work from parts sheets, specifications, and drawings.
• Perform prescribed inspections.
• Under the supervision of the Lead Technician, make recommendations regarding warranty liability and unusual repair problems.
• Maintain quality of work, safety, and housekeeping in the assigned area.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed.

• Able to work in various temperature conditions.
